Even in a place as wealthy and prosperous as the United States, 40 million people live below the poverty line, and almost 10% of Americans deal with food insecurity at some point throughout the year. This situation has only become worse with the emergence of the coronavirus pandemic. Economic fallout is rapidly increasing the level of hunger in America. According to projections by Feeding America, the number of Americans who are food insecure may jump from 37 million to 54 million in 2020. Additionally, the world health organization estimates that twice the number of people around the world will die this year from starvation and malnutrition.

MAP works year-round with its Nutrition and Hygiene Program to battle hunger in the U.S. and abroad, providing healthy and nutritious protein, fruits, and vegetables. Often, parents around the country have to make the impossible decision between paying bills and putting food on the table. MAP works with schools, community centers, and shelters to identify these hard-working families who are facing difficulties to send relief.

COVID-19 has escalated an already urgent crisis across the country. The many thousands of impoverished children and families who depend on free food from schools and food banks are suffering more than ever. Business closures and unemployment has added to the hunger crisis. As a result, requests for food and provisions from our community have increased in multitudes.

In the past few months, we have supported over 36,000 children and their families and provided over 100,000 lbs. of food in California, Virginia and D.C. Additionally, MAP has provided gift cards, food packages, and meals to schools and centers in Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., and other areas in California.

We need your help to continue extending this lifeline to disadvantaged Americans. Now, more than ever, we need your support to accomplish this goal. Please Donate.
