Who We Are | FAQ
Moms Against Poverty maintains two OFAC licenses (one General License, one Specific License) from the U.S. Department of the Treasury for humanitarian purposes and can collect tax-exempt donations to support our ongoing relief efforts and our other projects involving schools, orphanages and other humanitarian related activities in Iran.
A general license authorizes a particular type of transaction for a class of persons without the need to apply for a license.
A specific license is a written document issued by OFAC to a particular person or entity, authorizing a particular transaction in response to a written license application.
Moms Against Poverty has created an Iran-facing sister organization, Nikgaman Jamshid, for the purpose of implementing our projects in Iran. Nikgaman and our teams work closely to manage all of our projects in Iran on behalf of Moms Against Poverty and our donors.
Moms Against Poverty continues to use legal channels for transfer of funds raised in the U.S. to Nikgaman Jamshid in compliance with OFAC rules and regulations.
We welcome all Moms Against Poverty’s donors to visit our projects in Iran. Please contact our office in Iran to arrange for your visit.
