Marketing Admin Assistant – Part-Time

Our success depends on the dedication of our small but mighty team to advance our mission of fighting to end childhood poverty. We’re currently searching for a self-starting, part time, Marketing Admin Assistant to join our team to support our long-term growth. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with the ability to take things and run with them.

This position will be based in our Burlingame, CA office and reports directly to the Director of Marketing while also providing support to the Marketing Manager & CEO as needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the production, operation, and marketing of 5-6 fundraising events
  • Assist in facilitating small scale Shopping Experience events every other month
  • Assist in creating and printing marketing materials including event flyers, postcards, signage, etc.
  • Assist Marketing Manager as needed with creative and scheduling of email blasts, social media posts, etc.
  • Monitoring and outreach on social media channels to grow followers
  • Supporting website updates, content, SEO, keyword research, and tracking analytics to ensure all content is up to date and relevant
  • Organizing and improving our DropBox filing system for images, campaigns, and all yearly marketing activities
  • Managing the monthly membership welcome packet distribution for the ChangeMaker program and work with Marketing Director to improve membership numbers
  • Assisting with ticket and sponsorship sales tracking for benefit fundraisers
  • Performing other administrative duties as assigned
  • In person support on event weekends/days

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience working in the non-profit field preferred but not required
  • 1+ year of sales and or marketing experience is preferred, not required
  • Exceptional problem solving, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment within a shared space
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well versed in Microsoft office or Google Suite, general computer skills, and smart devices
  • Attention to detail
  • Stellar follow up
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, College Degree is preferred

Program Manager Position

Program Manager

Moms Against Poverty (MAP) is a tax exempt, non-profit, charitable organization with the mission to nurture and educate impoverished children to their fullest potential, so that one day they can contribute and lead within their own communities and break the cycle of poverty. Our work is holistically minded, advancing communities one program at a time toward well-being and self-sufficiency.

Our success depends on strong program management. We’re currently searching for an experienced program manager to join our team and continue that success. The ideal candidate will be proactive, have a sharp business mind and a proven ability to strategize and implement program initiatives. You will have a strong talent for project coordination and delegation. Your inter-personal skills will enable you to seamlessly work with partners in the U.S., Iran, Cambodia, Senegal, and other regions in the world where MAP has a presence.  Ultimately, you are motivated by the desire to nurture program success from inception to completion.

This position will be based in our Burlingame, CA office and reports to the CEO of MAP.

 

Objectives of this Role

  • Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives
  • Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement
  • Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance
  • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring program goals are reached
  • Manage budget and funding channels for maximum productivity and efficiency

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience working in the non-profit field, preferably for a charitable organization
  • 5+ years in a program management role (preference given to those with program management experience)
  • Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Farsi and English
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
  • Proven proposal writing experience

Volunteer Coordinator Position

Volunteer Coordinator

Moms Against Poverty (MAP) is a global non-profit charitable organization with the mission to nurture and educate impoverished children to their fullest potential, so that one day they can contribute and lead within their own communities and break the cycle of poverty. Our work is holistically minded, advancing communities one program at a time toward well-being and self-sufficiency.

Our army of volunteers, who dedicate their time, resources, generosity, and enthusiasm to MAP, are the glue that holds our organization together. They help us to fundraise, organize and execute events, drive social media engagement, and coordinate our many programs that benefit so many children and families around the world.  We are now searching for a Volunteer Coordinator to manage this growing army and maximize their potential. 

Your role will be to coordinate the volunteers and match them to the needs of the MAP team as well as work with our surrounding schools to determine additional volunteer opportunities.  This requires the ability to evaluate skill sets, resources, and availability of volunteers, assess how best they can assist, assign them to various tasks, and track and report on their activities.

This hourly position (15-20 hours per week) will be mainly out of MAP’s Burlingame, CA office and will report to the CEO of MAP. This is an exciting opportunity to join an amazing team!

 

Objectives of this Role

  • Implement strategy and maintain a volunteer program, i.e. recruit, interview, supervise, train, and evaluate
  • Increase engagement and retain volunteers with an emphasis on employee volunteers with corporate matching
  • Create, maintain, and track a database of volunteers
  • Coordinate student initiatives
  • Design and implement program for recognition and appreciation of volunteers, e.g. Volunteer of the Month, regular “meet and greet” events, volunteer hour acknowledgment letters, letters of recommendation etc.
  • Respond to requests from Team members for volunteer support
  • Assign tasks to volunteers as needed
  • Maximize volunteers’ skills, resources, and abilities to benefit the work of the organization
  • Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in a non-profit charity organization
  • Excellent communication skills

Marketing Intern Position

Marketing Intern

We’re searching for energetic marketing interns to join our team. The ideal candidates will be proactive, have a sharp business mind and a proven ability to implement marketing strategies. You will have a strong talent for creative development and communication. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to seamlessly work with our diverse team and dedicated donor base. Ultimately, you are motivated by the desire to work in the nonprofit sector and drive real change.

This position will be based in our Burlingame, CA office and reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications of MAP.

Marketing Intern will support Director of Marketing & Communication and Marketing Manager with the following activities:

  • Create social media posts and captions as needed and under the supervision and direction of the Marketing Manager
  • Communicate with FB, IG, LI, and Twitter followers before and after we post and as they engage with our content
  • Post daily on MAPs Facebook group MAP’s ChangeMakers
  • Send “Welcome Packages” and emails to new MAP’s ChangeMaker members
  • Update, clean, and organize,CRM contact lists
  • Create event-in-a-box kits for various event opportunities
  • Research influencers for MAPs ChangeMaker program and message them to gain interest and support
  • Maintain YouTube Channel – organize content, add descriptions, titles, playlists, #’s and links
  • Create and organize Social Media templates for MAP, MAPs ChangeMakers, and Student SQUAD
  • Create, inventory, and organize physical print materials like flyers, banners, brochures, pamphlets, postcards, stickers, envelopes, folders, giveaway items, etc
  • Update and maintain the press contact list


Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong desire to work in the non-profit field, preferably for a charitable organization
  • Pursuing a degree in
  • Business, Marketing, Communications or other related field
  • Exceptional organization, time management, creative, and reasoning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Salary: This is an unpaid internship with the opportunity to earn paid employment at the end of the term (May/June-July/August).
