Moms Against Poverty Holiday Helping Hand Program

We ended the year with our Holiday Helping Hand Program, delivering food, toys, and gift cards to children in need across California and Virginia.

In California, hundreds of volunteers wrapped over 1,300 gifts, which were distributed to children from low-income families through:

  • APA Family Support Services (San Francisco)
  • Cesar Chavez Elementary School (East Palo Alto)
  • SAHA (East Bay)
  • Selma Olinder Elementary School (San Jose)
  • Alvin S. Hatch Elementary School (Half Moon Bay)
  • Pars Equality Center (San Jose)

We appreciate donations from IKEA, Central County Fire Department, and Toys for Tots and thank the City of Burlingame for providing the space for our gift-wrapping event.

Through the Neda Nobari Foundation and other donors, we also provided 100 grocery store gift cards to homeless families at Cesar Chavez Elementary School.

In Virginia, Moms Against Poverty sponsored meals for Dominion High School’s Generosity Feeds event, where 700 volunteers packaged 20,000 meals for over 11,500 children experiencing food insecurity in Loudoun County.
