A magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit the City of Khoy in West Azerbaijan Province of Iran on January 28th, killing some residents and injuring hundreds of people, leaving survivors without shelter or food in subzero temperatures.
It is being reported that 70 Villages have been damaged by the earthquake, due to cold weather and snowfall, those affected are in desperate need of shelter and food.
Goal: $25,000
*Any funds received over and above the campaign budget will be put into the general funds, as directed by the Board of Directors of Moms Against Poverty, in furtherance of its mission.
Together, both of these platforms as well as Middle East Matters, an organization that started a fundraiser on our behalf, received a total of 2,122 donations and raised $68,769.04! We appreciate everyone who donated.

Moms Against Poverty maintains two OFAC licenses (one General and one Specific) from the U.S. Department of Treasury for humanitarian purposes and can collect tax-exempt donations to support our ongoing relief efforts and other charitable-related activities in Iran.
Our recently renewed license increased the number of funds we are able to transfer to $17M over two years.
