While the future of their relationship remains uncertain, one thing is clear: Moms Against Poverty’s unwavering commitment to uplifting Iranian children and families through humanitarian aid in Iran continues. Principal Founder & CEO Delfarib Fanaie is preparing for another mission trip to Iran this June to further the organization’s vital work.

“This is a journey I always look forward to making,” said Delfarib. “To meet those we’re supporting and witness the lasting impact—made possible by the generosity and care of our donors and volunteers—is profoundly moving.”

Delfarib will travel across ten regions, including Tehran, visiting both new and ongoing projects. She’ll return to five girls’ orphanages to assess how the children are growing and thriving in safe, nurturing environments. These institutions are part of programs for women’s empowerment in Iran, providing long-term stability and care for vulnerable youth.

She will also visit several of the 76 schools supported by Moms Against Poverty, where daily food programs help nourish 3,950 students—an essential example of how humanitarian aid supports Iranian children, ensuring they are well-fed and able to focus on learning.

Her journey will include a stop at a cancer ward established through Moms Against Poverty’s efforts, providing critical medical care to underserved patients, and continuing its legacy of impactful charity work in Iran.

For the first time, Delfarib will meet with some of the 300 children at a labor center in Tehran—children who, without Moms Against Poverty’s support, might otherwise be forced into street labor to help support their families. Thanks to the recent SoCal Gala in Costa Mesa, California, hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised to directly benefit these children and their communities.

Delfarib will also spend time at a shelter for battered women, where Moms Against Poverty provides housing, education, and vocational training. These essential services reflect the organization’s commitment to long-term nonprofit support for Iranian communities.

Through every visit, every conversation, and every effort, Moms Against Poverty deepens its investment in sustainable, people-centered humanitarian aid in Iran—a mission that grows more urgent by the day.

“Meeting these women motivates me to keep going,” said Delfarib. “To do everything I can to ensure they’re not forgotten and are empowered to rebuild their lives with their children by their side.”
