Tragedy at the Bandar Abbas Port Claims Lives and Sparks Urgent Humanitarian Response

On April 26, 2025, a catastrophic explosion and fire at the port in Bandar Abbas, Iran, claimed the lives of at least 70 people so far and injured more than 1,200 others. The explosion caused massive structural damage, leaving buildings destroyed and large areas of the port in ruins.

This tragic event at one of Iran’s key shipping hubs, commonly referred to as the Bandar Abbas port, has left thousands of families grieving and disrupted infrastructure.

At Moms Against Poverty, we extend our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and express our heartfelt concern for all who were injured in the Bandar Abbas Port explosion.

As a humanitarian organization, we are currently assessing the situation to determine how we can offer immediate and meaningful assistance to those most impacted.

As part of our broader commitment to global relief, we remain focused on families and children who may now face increased vulnerability. This includes potential emergency aid, medical support, and longer-term recovery assistance.
