On April 9, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck the town of Kaki 60miles southeast of Bushehr in southern Iran. According to BBC news, 10,000 people in 50 villages are thought to live in the affected area. Two villages have reportedly been completely leveled. 700 houses have been damaged and over 200 families affected. These people are in our thoughts and prayers.Today MAP signed a joint community letter to President Obama requesting permission to send relief funds to Iran. Meanwhile, MAP’s sister NGO in Iran will be visiting the region to report back on the level of relief needed and how we as a community can support these people. Donate
