Tablets for Students Campaign
An estimated 3.5 million students in Iran are deprived of remote education, the only alternative to traditional in person classes amid widespread COVID-19 pandemic. Shortage of devices (tablet/handset) and lack of internet access are the top two reasons that may force 3.5 million students, majority of them from impoverished, rural and remote towns and villages, to drop out of school this year or even permanently.
Moms Against Poverty has been able to identify the target students, and proper devices that best suit the educational need of these students, with reasonable costs. Tablets or handset devices have to be able to access Internet through both Wi-Fi and cellular networks, since Wi-Fi networks are not available in all areas inhabited by these students, and the only means of connectivity is through cellular network.
To help with this problem, MAP has initiated a Tablets for Students campaign to coordinate donations, purchase and deliver the tablets and/or handsets directly to the students. With a donation of around $100 for a student, you are effectively building a virtual classroom for a student that otherwise may drop out of school. Please donate!
