Through programs in Education, Health Care & Wellness, Hunger Relief & Basic Provisions, Orphan Care, and Disaster Relief, we address critical needs and provide opportunities for children to thrive. Our Hunger Relief and Basic Provisions program plays a vital role in ensuring children and families in need across the United States have access to essential resources.

We are a lean yet passionate team of dedicated individuals working tirelessly to fulfill our mission. As we expand our programs to serve more communities, we are seeking a detail-oriented and committed US Programs Coordinator to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to shape MAP’s programs and make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families in need.

Position Summary:

The Development and Grant Writing Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission by cultivating relationships with existing donors, securing new donors and grants, and obtaining in-kind contributions from businesses and manufacturers. This individual will be responsible for managing fundraising initiatives, grant writing, and fostering partnerships to support our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:
    o Develop and implement strategies to maintain and enhance relationships with existing donors.
    o Identify and engage potential new donors to expand the donor base.
    o Organize appreciation events and communications to acknowledge donor contributions.
  • Grant Writing and Management:
    o Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and programs.
    o Prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundations, corporations, as well as federal, state, and local agencies.
    o Ensure compliance with grant requirements and timely submission of reports.
  • In-Kind Contributions:
    o Identify and establish partnerships with businesses and manufacturers for in-kind donations, such as food, toys, gift cards, and basic provisions.
  • Fundraising Events and Campaigns:
    o Plan and execute fundraising events, including securing sponsorships for annual galas, to generate revenue and engage the community.
    o Develop and manage fundraising campaigns, including online appeals and annual giving programs.
  • Marketing and Public Relations:
    o Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop marketing materials that promote fundraising initiatives.
    o Utilize social media and other platforms to enhance the organization’s visibility and attract support.
  • Budget Planning and Management:
    o Work with the CEO and CFO to develop budgets for fundraising activities and grant proposals.
    o Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, or fundraising.
  • Proven track record of securing grants and cultivating donor relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in using donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for the mission of Moms Against Poverty.

Position Requirements:

  • Donor Engagement: This position requires frequent in-person meetings with donors and prospective donors to cultivate relationships and secure support.
  • Travel: While primarily based in Northern California, occasional travel may be required to connect with potential donors and partners in other communities as part of the organization’s expansion strategy.
  • Transportation: The Development and Grant Writing Manager is expected to have access to a reliable vehicle, as the organization does not provide funds for Uber, Lyft, taxi, or similar services. Travel expenses, including mileage, will be reimbursed in accordance with the organization’s policy.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $85,000-$90,000 annually based on experience
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 17.5 days annually.
  • Holidays: 10 paid federal holidays.
  • Health Insurance: Offered to employees.
