Shaping the Future Together

Dear Friends,

It’s hard to believe that November is here and that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. During this season of gratitude and reflection, we at Moms Against Poverty want to say THANK YOU!

We are incredibly grateful for your compassion, kindness, and ongoing support of our mission to fight child poverty worldwide.

Each year, we gather at Moms Against Poverty’s Annual Gala in San Francisco to celebrate the lives we’ve touched and the strength of our growing community. We are thrilled to report that the 8th Annual Dinner Dance and Auction Fundraiser was a huge success, with more than 1,300 guests in attendance. Thanks to your generosity, as well as the dedication of our volunteers, sponsors, and donors, we raised over $500,000 to help impoverished children.

Your contributions continue to nourish and empower children in need, providing them with access to education, healthcare, and nutrition. Watch our latest video to see the impact we’ve made together.

On behalf of the children we serve, we thank you and look forward to continuing this vital work.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,
The Moms Against Poverty Team

Expanding Our Holiday Giving Initiatives

Our Holiday Helping Hand Project is in full swing! On November 22nd, we will be packaging food for thousands of children facing hunger in Loudoun County, Virginia at Dominion High School in partnership with Generosity Feeds. Join us here if you’d like to participate!

Our Holiday Toy Drive, in collaboration with the City of Burlingame and the Central County Fire Department, will take place on December 13th. Donations can be dropped off at the Burlingame Park & Recreation Center from 12 PM to 4 PM. Volunteers are welcome to help with gift wrapping.

Addressing Childhood Hunger in the U.S.

According to Feeding America, 16 million children in the U.S. struggle with hunger. Since 2010, Moms Against Poverty has been combating food insecurity through our Nutrition Outreach Program, and we are pleased to announce that we are now expanding this program into the Oakland and Cabrillo school districts in California.

Every child deserves access to nutritious meals. Thank you for making this possible!

Moms Against Poverty’s Global Impact

Providing Education in Senegal

We are excited to report that the construction of our new school in Mbour, Senegal is now complete, thanks to our partnership with Natangué Sénégal. This school will provide education to children who previously had no access to formal learning.

Expanding Educational Programs in Cambodia

The children at HOPE Children’s Home are thriving, and we are proud to have expanded our Education Outreach Program to serve 150 children with after-school curriculum. Due to the program’s success, we are launching a campaign to purchase a school bus.

Why is this important?

  • The roads in this region are unsafe, especially during the rainy season.
  • A school bus will allow more children from distant areas to safely attend.

Building Schools & Early Education in Iran

We are thrilled to have over 40 sponsors supporting our Mahd Roosta Preschool & Daycare Initiative in Iran. These centers:

  • Provide early childhood education in underserved communities.
  • Offer safe, nurturing learning spaces for children.
  • Enable mothers to work while ensuring their children receive a strong educational foundation.

Currently, three Mahd Roosta Centers have been completed, and construction on additional centers is set to begin.

We are also pleased to report that:

  • Three new schools in Azerbaijan, Sistan & Baluchestan, and Kurdistan are nearly complete.
  • We have built and furnished a therapy room and library at Ghiasvand Boys Orphanage.
  • Renovations and equipment purchases have been completed at Shahid Torkamani Orphanage.
  • A vocational and therapy center for orphaned and special-needs children in Kerman is in progress.
  • We continue to provide monthly health insurance for children in Kerman.
  • Therapy sessions for special-needs children at Farkhondeh Center are ongoing.

Transforming Education in India

We are thrilled to see our five Learning Centers in Raygada, India thriving. The education programs have been so successful that we are planning to expand our reach and support more children in poverty-stricken areas.

Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Thank you for making this possible!
